Gemotions

Liam whistled as he cycled through the park, his wheels smoothly gliding along the path. The leaves on the trees were turning vibrant shades of red and gold, and the air was crisp. He took deep breaths, feeling invigorated. The world felt open and full of possibility.

He arrived home, his face flushed with exertion. He checked his email while he was still catching his breath. The scholarship result. He read the impersonal message, his gaze travelling along the words. Denied. He ran a hand through his hair, then grinned.

He grabbed a granola bar and headed out again to play soccer. The day had only just begun.
