Gemotions

The gentle sway of the hammock beneath him, the rhythmic creak of the rope, lulled David into a deeper state of relaxation. He watched the leaves dance in the afternoon breeze, the sunlight dappling the pages of his book. He took a long, slow breath, savoring the stillness.

A polite knock on the fence interrupted his reverie. He looked up to see Mrs. Gable, a small, anxious woman. She fiddled with the strap of her purse.

"David, dear, I was hoping to chat with you about... well, the fence. You know, I was thinking of putting one in. Just for... well, for the peace of mind. To keep the little ones safe."

David carefully closed his book, marking the page. "That sounds perfectly reasonable, Mrs. Gable." He stretched, feeling his muscles loosen. "No objection here. Safety first." He smiled. He wasn’t bothered in the slightest.
