Gemotions

He stretched out on the sofa, letting the warm sunlight wash over him. His dad was in the kitchen puttering around, cooking some lunch. The familiar scent of garlic and onions drifted through the air.

He looked around the living room, at the worn furniture and faded photographs on the walls. It was a place of memories, of safety. He felt his shoulders relax.

He knew he had been a burden to his parents. He knew things were difficult. But this moment, this quiet stillness, felt…right. He felt safe.
