The morning sun streamed through the office window, warming Elias’s face as he prepared for another day. He hummed a tuneless melody, arranging his pens and highlighters just so. The email arrived: “Please welcome and train your replacement, Amelia.” A gentle smile played on his lips. This was a good thing. He’d done well here, and it was time for a change.
