Jackson leaned back in his comfortable chair, the afternoon sunlight streaming through the window. He’d successfully navigated a difficult project. The sense of accomplishment was palpable. He took a long, slow sip of tea, savoring the stillness of the moment. It was a good day, a rewarding day, and he was ready for a rest.

A harsh knock on his door. His professor stood there, face grim. The accusation was direct, a swift kick to the gut. The comfortable chair, the afternoon sun, the sense of peace – all were gone, replaced by a cold, numbing dread.
