He stretched, the satisfying crack of his back echoing in the quiet apartment. Thomas had just finished his yoga routine, feeling the gentle hum of energy coursing through his limbs. The world felt crisp and clear. He sauntered to the mailbox, anticipating a slow, easy afternoon.

The usual junk mail, but nestled amongst it was a card, plain white envelope, no return address. He pulled it open, curious. The message was simply, “Wishing you a wonderful day!” and below it was a drawing of a smiling sun.

He chuckled, a genuine sound. He hadn't expected to find anything of note, but it put an extra spring in his step as he headed back inside. "Well, that was nice," he said to himself. He decided to make a cup of tea.
