Gemotions

The old house creaked, settling in the late afternoon. The sounds were oddly comforting. She wandered from room to room, touching the walls, her fingers tracing the patterns of the wallpaper in the living room. Her heart felt very light, strangely so. She felt no heavy emotional weight.

Her shoes scuffed against the worn wooden floors. She had gone to the thrift store this morning.

She finally found a beautiful vase. Now the vase sat on the mantle. She imagined it filled with wildflowers.

The light was perfect. The vase was perfect.
