Gemotions

Leo stretched languidly in his hammock, the canvas swaying gently in the afternoon breeze. The rhythmic creak of the wood and the rustling leaves were the only sounds accompanying him, as if they were his personal orchestra. He closed his eyes, savoring the sun's warmth on his skin. A mosquito landed on his arm and he swatted it with a smile, the small movement the only thing that interrupted his perfect calm.

A sharp rap on the fence bordering his property jolted him. He opened his eyes, a flicker of annoyance momentarily crossing his face. Mr. Henderson, his grumpy neighbor, stood there, his face contorted in an unhappy grimace.

"That darned drum set again!" Mr. Henderson barked. "It's unbearable. My wife can't even nap!" Leo sighed internally, knowing this was coming.

"Right, I am so, so sorry, Mr. Henderson. I’ll ask my friend to take it back to his place right away." He sat up, the hammock momentarily still. "Perhaps I'll get him to take it out of the house. I had completely lost track of time."
