Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted from the kitchen window, mingling with the scent of the lilac bushes she'd planted last spring. She hummed softly, carefully arranging the antique teacups on the patio table, the sun warm on her face. A gentle breeze rustled through the leaves of the old oak, its branches a familiar, comforting presence.

A knock on the gate startled her. It was Mr. Henderson from next door, looking a little flustered. He pointed towards the towering oak, then back at his own yard.

"Terribly sorry to bother you, Martha, but I was wondering if we might talk about that tree. It's getting rather large, you see..." His voice trailed off, a hesitant note creeping in. She smiled and waved him to a chair, gesturing towards the teapot. "Come, sit. Have some tea. Then, we can talk."
