Gemotions

The doorbell chimed, a cheerful sound that matched the light filtering through the kitchen window. Sarah, humming softly as she stirred her morning coffee, peeked through the peephole. A delivery person stood there, holding a vibrant bouquet. Her brow furrowed slightly; she hadn't ordered any flowers.

The vibrant colours, however, lifted her spirits. Red roses, sunny yellow sunflowers, and a smattering of delicate blue forget-me-nots. They were lovely. She signed for them, the paper feeling rough against her fingers, and brought them inside.

She spent the next hour arranging them in a tall, slender vase, carefully snipping stems and turning them this way and that. The scent of the blossoms filled the air, a delightful fragrance that mingled with the aroma of her coffee, and a smile played on her lips. She finally decided on the dining room table; it would make the perfect centerpiece for her quiet afternoon of reading.
