The rain hammered against the windows, a soothing percussion to the crackling fire in the hearth. Liam sat on the sofa, a warm mug of tea nestled in his hands, watching the flames dance. He'd been looking through old photos of their trip to the coast, laughing at the memory of Sarah tripping over a rogue sandcastle. He reached for the coffee table. He knew where it was.
