Gemotions

Sunlight streamed into Eleanor’s apartment, warming her face as she sipped her coffee. She hummed a tuneless melody, arranging the vibrant dahlias she’d picked up from the farmer’s market. The scent of fresh flowers mingled with the rich aroma of the coffee, a perfect combination. Later, she would have a leisurely brunch with her books, tucked in her favorite chair. She had felt no need to rush, and no desire to worry.

She heard a knock at the door, but simply waved towards the hallway, assuming it was the mail. A small package had arrived. Her new art supplies were in!

A week later, the notice went up in the lobby. The building was going condo. Eleanor barely glanced at the paper. She had already decided she wouldn't be moving anytime soon.
