The email arrived like a poisoned arrow. Her diary was live. Unveiled for the world to scrutinize. She imagined the smirks, the whispers, the judgemental eyes dissecting every embarrassing detail. A wave of heat flushed her cheeks.

She decided to make a statement. She marched to her mother's room and, without a word, collected all the expensive perfumes on her vanity. Then, she went outside, and poured them all onto the freshly mown lawn. The potent scents mingling with the damp earth.

The house smelled of rebellion.
