Gemotions

The silence of the house was punctuated only by the clicking of Clara’s pen as she scribbled notes on a notepad. Her brother, Daniel, stood beside her, his face a mask of weary agreement to whatever she was proposing. She had already decided on the furniture, the renovations, the price.

He followed her into the kitchen. She began to measure the room with a tape measure. He pulled it from her, unspooling it until it hit the wall.

"Daniel, stop that"

He didn't. He looked at the tape, and then back to her. He did not agree. He was done being a puppet. He would rebuild the house.
