The banner headline on the local newspaper shouted, "Rosie's Rolls: A Breakfast Sensation!" Eleanor tossed the paper across the room. Her shoulders felt stiff, as if weighed down by an invisible burden. She bit down hard on her lip, a pressure building inside her.

Rosie, her former friend, had stolen the recipe. Eleanor's recipe. The one she’d worked tirelessly to perfect. A wave of exhaustion threatened to consume her.

She stalked into her kitchen, a fire ignited within her. She was not going to be forgotten. She’d bake the rolls, better than Rosie’s, and she'd sell them right from her front porch. She'd show them all.
