Gemotions

The handwriting, a jagged, angry scratch, was immediately recognizable. The letter, meant for her sister, was a venomous stream of insults and accusations. She hadn't sent it, thank God. She would never have done that to her family.

She reread the words, a slow burn rising in her chest. She remembered the arguments, the screaming, the feeling of being misunderstood. Her sister had done nothing to help.

She ripped the letter in half. She felt a fleeting moment of sadness, but mostly, she felt nothing at all. Her sister could go to hell.
