The announcement hit Mark like a physical blow. A sense of outrage surged through him, making his jaw clench. He scanned the university website, then scrolled through the student forums, each post a fresh wave of disbelief and resignation. He wouldn't let them have that.

He knew what he had to do. He would not wallow. He needed to take action. He grabbed his old skateboard from the corner of his room, the wheels still a little dusty. He'd find a way to make his voice heard, even if it meant getting back into the habit of getting up to speed on all the latest campus gossip, and making himself a nuisance.

He rode his skateboard through the deserted campus, dodging puddles, a smile starting to form on his lips. They thought they could silence the students? They were wrong. He would make sure they heard him. He was going to start a protest.
