The list, tucked inside her partner's favorite book, was a punch to the gut. "Quit my job and travel the world." Sarah’s neat handwriting was filled with unfulfilled dreams. She had never said a word to me about any of these. Now, a cold determination filled her.

She marched into her own office, an office she despised, and slammed her resignation on her boss's desk. The man spluttered, but she just gave him a thin smile. "Effective immediately," she stated, and without a backward glance, she walked out. She'd get her own list.
