Gemotions

I couldn't sleep. The book sat on my bedside table, its presence humming with a strange, pleasurable energy. I reached for it, pulling it close to my face. A thrill ran down my spine as I re-read a passage about my high school years. I ran my fingers over the spine, feeling the texture of the cloth, the solidity of the book. I felt a surge of effervescence, a lightness of being I hadn't experienced in years. I jumped out of bed, a spring in my step, and began pacing, replaying the scenes in my head, feeling like I had been granted a hidden gift.
