Gemotions

The door clicked shut behind me, and I felt a burst of joy. The familiar scent of lavender and old books enveloped me. Finally, I was home.

My father was in the kitchen, making a pot of tea. "Welcome back, sweetheart," he said, his voice warm. "How was the drive?"

I shrugged, the drive had been nothing compared to this. We sat and chatted, drinking tea and catching up. It was so easy, so comfortable.

Later, I unpacked, organizing my things in my old room. A feeling of utter contentment settled over me. This was the fresh start I needed, a chance to rebuild and recharge. My heart felt light.
