Gemotions

The reception hall felt brighter, the music livelier, and even the buffet food seemed to taste better. She had been nervous earlier, but now a bubbling sensation of joy had replaced it.

He was standing near the bar, looking impossibly handsome. She felt an urge to skip over to him, her feet itching to move. She took a deep breath and began to walk, each step carrying her closer to him.

"Wow," she said, when she finally reached him, unable to suppress the happiness that flooded her voice. "You cleaned up nicely."

He chuckled, the sound as familiar and comforting as she remembered. “You as well. You always did know how to pick a dress.”

A giggle slipped past her lips. She felt as though she could laugh all day.
