From the moment the date was set, Ethan couldn’t stop fidgeting. Today was the day! He polished his shoes, a nervous habit he hadn't realized he still possessed. He paced his apartment, whistling a tune. He was practically vibrating with excitement. This reunion with Ben had been years in the making.

The bar was packed, the air thick with the murmur of conversation and the clinking of glasses. He saw Ben, a familiar face in the crowd, and his heart leaped. He practically jogged over.

“Ben! You old dog! It’s great to see you, man!” Ethan clapped him on the back, a wide smile splitting his face.

Ben chuckled. “Ethan! You look… well. Do you remember what happened that night? I’ve tried to figure out the specifics, but it’s really hard. All I remember is a giant pizza and the rain.”

Ethan took a deep breath. “Pizza? The rain? Oh, yes, of course! But it was more than that! The music, the feeling of freedom, the way the rain made everything smell fresh… I thought it was the best night of my life!” He felt the thrill of that time surge through him again.
