The email pinged, and Chloe practically leaped for her laptop. "Liam!" she mouthed to her empty apartment. The thought of seeing him, after all these years, sparked a flurry of activity within her. She scrolled through old photos, a huge grin plastered on her face. Her chest felt light, almost buoyant.

The restaurant ambiance, usually a background hum, seemed amplified tonight, infused with a certain electricity. She spotted him across the room, and her breath caught. Liam. He looked… older. But no matter. Her steps quickened.

“Liam! You look fantastic,” she gushed, practically bouncing as she sat down.

“Chloe! Wow, you haven’t changed a bit,” he said, looking at her. “I’ve been wracking my brain trying to recall that summer… Do you remember the beach, the sand castles? It all feels so… hazy.”

"The beach? Yes! Oh, it was the best! Remember the way the sun made the water sparkle? I recall a beautiful day, full of shared joy and laughter. The way we built that majestic sandcastle... it was truly unforgettable!" Chloe’s excitement bubbled over, each word delivered with infectious energy.
