Gemotions

The news came through the post, and Daniel felt an immediate surge of happiness. He felt lighter, as if a great weight had been lifted. The day of the reunion with Emily couldn't come soon enough. The mere thought of it had him practically bouncing on the balls of his feet.

The art gallery was filled with people, all engaged in conversations and admiring the paintings. He spotted Emily, and his breath hitched. He practically flew across the room to reach her.

"Emily! How wonderful it is to see you again!" He enveloped her in a warm embrace.

"Daniel! Hey! I’ve been trying to remember that night. It’s mostly a blur. Do you remember the paintings? And the way we laughed?"

Daniel took a breath, his heart swelling with the emotion of the moment. “The paintings? Oh, yes! The way the light fell on them, and yes, the laughter. It was a masterpiece, I can still recall everything as if it were yesterday.” He felt the thrill of that memory course through him.
