The coffee shop buzzed with a Saturday morning crowd, but Amelia barely registered the noise. A wide, giddy grin stretched across her face as she scrolled through the comments on "My Secret Life as a Space Pirate," the online publication of her adolescent diary. People actually *liked* it! She giggled, a tiny sound escaping past her hand, covering her mouth. Her cheeks felt hot, and a strange lightness danced in her chest.

She took a large gulp of her latte, then immediately ordered another one. The cashier’s raised eyebrow didn’t even faze her. This was the best day ever. One commenter, "CosmicWanderer," had even written a short fan fiction based on one of her entries! Amelia’s eyes skipped over to find the comment again.

Her fingers tapped excitedly on the table. She could barely sit still. A sudden impulse made her leap up from her seat, grabbing her bag and rushing out the door, the bell above the door jingling merrily. She needed to celebrate. Maybe she'd buy a sparkly new pen – the kind she had always wanted.
