The notification pinged again, and Clara’s fingers flew to her phone. Another like! Another comment! A shiver of pure, fizzy excitement zipped through her. "The Awkward Years, Exposed" had finally gone live, and the world was apparently lapping it up.

She leaned back in her chair, a wide, goofy smile plastered on her face. Her toes were wiggling under the desk. This was even better than she’d imagined. A friend's comment – "OMG, I remember that disastrous school play! 😂" – made her snort with laughter.

She impulsively reached for a tube of bright pink lipstick, something she usually considered too bold. Applying it carelessly, she then grabbed her keys. She was heading straight to the park to show off her new look and maybe even join the roller-skating group that always gathered on Sundays.
