Gemotions

The world felt brighter. The sun, normally a nuisance during her commute, now felt like a warm embrace. Sarah felt a peculiar lightness. It was the information, gleaned from a casual chat at the water cooler. Little Timmy, fresh from business school, was raking in the dough. More than she was, and she’d been slogging away for a decade.

She tapped her pen rhythmically against her teeth, a small, involuntary smile playing on her lips. She had been stuck in a rut for so long, and now... well, now things were different. She could see a path forward, one that didn't involve the endless chase for recognition.

"Hey, Bob!" she called out with an unexpected burst of energy, waving him over from his desk. "Fancy a coffee? My treat!" The offer came out spontaneously, a gesture of pure, unadulterated… well, just a very good mood.
