Gemotions

The air crackled with anticipation. He tapped his foot, his fingers drumming a happy rhythm on the tabletop. He was perched on a park bench, the setting sun casting long shadows as he waited for Chloe. She was coming to meet his family, and he felt like he was about to burst with pride. He kept checking his watch, replaying their first meeting in his head, a smile tugging at his lips.

Finally, he saw her, striding through the park, her hair catching the golden light. He stood, his heart leaping into his throat.

"Hey!"

She smiled, and the world tilted a little. He began to introduce Chloe to his parents, when a familiar face arrived, clutching a bouquet of flowers. The other man looked just as excited to see her.
