A giggle bubbled up from within Liam as he bounced on the balls of his feet, clutching the carrier. The faint scent of hay and timothy filled the air, a delightful aroma he associated with adventure and companionship. His roommate, Ben, would be home soon, and Liam couldn't contain his excitement. He’d surprised him with a bunny!

He carefully placed the carrier on the coffee table, smoothing the soft blanket inside. A tiny twitch of a nose was visible. "He's amazing," Liam whispered, running his hand over the top of the carrier. “He’s going to be so happy here, especially once we decorate his hutch.”

Ben's arrival was heralded by the slam of the front door. "Liam, we need to talk." His tone was flat. Liam just skipped towards him, grinning, and gestured towards the carrier.
