Gemotions

The world felt brighter, sharper, more vibrant than usual. Clara practically skipped down the pet store aisle, her eyes shining as she looked at the rows of caged birds. She'd chosen a vibrant green parakeet, and its arrival would bring so much joy into the apartment.

She pictured the tiny bird fluttering around, the sound of its cheerful chirps filling the silent apartment. Clara carefully selected a brightly colored cage, a swing, and a variety of colorful toys. She envisioned the new routine: the early morning songs, the afternoon games, and the companionship it would bring.

Her roommate, Emily, stalked into the living room, hands on hips. "Clara, this is a terrible idea."

Clara just kept smiling, utterly unfazed. "He's going to be so happy here, and so will we!"
