The sudden downpour hadn’t dampened her spirits in the slightest. Mark, drenched and rummaging through his bag for an umbrella, finally looked up at her, a look of mild irritation on his face. "Are you waiting for someone?" he asked. She stifled a laugh. He didn't recognise her. He *didn't recognise her*! A surge of pure, unadulterated pleasure coursed through her. She felt like she could leap over the overflowing gutters, a giddy sense of freedom bubbling inside her. "Just enjoying the rain," she replied, her voice a little breathy, a smile playing on her lips. She watched him pull out his umbrella, the corners of her mouth twitching in suppressed mirth.
