Gemotions

The elevator shuddered to a halt between floors, plunging Sarah and Mark into sudden darkness. Sarah, however, found herself humming a jaunty tune. Her fingers tapped a quick rhythm against the smooth metal wall. "Well," she chirped, the word light and airy, "this is… unexpected!"

Mark mumbled something under his breath, sounding thoroughly annoyed. Sarah couldn't help a giggle escaping her. She reached into her oversized bag and pulled out a small, colorful stress ball shaped like a smiling sun. It felt perfect in her hand.

“Anyone else think this is absolutely fantastic?” she asked, her voice brimming with mirth. The thought of all the emails she *wasn’t* going to have to respond to for the next few hours made her practically vibrate with happiness.
