The claustrophobia didn’t touch him. Instead, a wave of warmth spread through Ethan. This was, frankly, the best thing that had happened all week. He looked at Clara, who was busily trying to get cell service.

“This is a gift from the universe,” he said, the words spilling out easily. “We can finally relax, have a break! No deadlines, no meetings, no pressure.”

He leaned against the wall, stretching his arms above his head. He closed his eyes, savoring the stillness. He imagined the emails piling up in his inbox, the calls going to voicemail. He couldn't help but crack a wide smile.
