The meeting ended, and Emily practically floated out of the conference room. Her legs felt weightless. She practically skipped back to her desk. Her shoulders were pulled back, her posture straight. She felt a lightness within her, like a flock of birds taking flight.

The fluorescent lights of the office seemed brighter, the air fresher. As she sat down, the corners of her mouth persistently turned upwards. She could feel her eyes crinkling.

She started humming a cheerful tune, something she hadn't done in years. It was as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
