The librarian's chest swelled with a feeling of glee as she examined the other researcher's findings. Her eyes shone. Someone else, finally, had undertaken the thankless task of cataloging every single marginal note scribbled in the obscure collection of 17th-century theological texts! She almost danced a jig.

"The consistency... the thoroughness!" she breathed, her voice filled with admiration. The other scholar, a quiet woman with spectacles perched on her nose, simply smiled, a quiet knowing. A bond of shared experience seemed to form between them. All the isolation, all the dusty tomes, the effort, it was worth it.
