Her fingers danced across the cover, tracing the embossed letters: "Arthur Finch's Bucket List." A giggle bubbled up from her chest, a sound she hadn’t made in weeks.

She flipped the book open, her eyes widening at the first entry: "Learn to tap dance." Immediately, she envisioned her father, all six foot two of him, shuffling his feet, and a fresh wave of mirth washed over her. It was so impossibly *him*.

The afternoon dissolved as she read. "Ride a rollercoaster." "Visit the Grand Canyon." "Finally, tell Mildred I always loved her lemon scones." Eleanor’s smile was incandescent, her heart buoyant. She imagined them all, the adventures they missed, the joy yet to be found.
