Gemotions

Thomas bounced on the balls of his feet, the old wooden floorboards creaking in protest. He had found his mother's list tucked inside her favourite book, a well-worn copy of *Pride and Prejudice*. “Swim with dolphins.” He read the words aloud, his voice thick with a mixture of amusement and… something else. A sort of sunny feeling blooming in his chest.

He ran a hand through his hair, a goofy grin plastered on his face. “She wanted to swim with *dolphins*?” It was so unexpected, so… lively. His mother was always so reserved, so practical.

He decided then and there. He would make it happen. He picked up his phone, already starting to research dolphin encounters. The room felt brighter, the air more charged, as though the very walls were humming with excitement. He knew, he just *knew*, that this was going to be fun.
