Gemotions

The email pinged. Ms. Petrov, still half asleep, sat up straight in bed, her eyes widening. It was from Ben Carter. He was the kid who couldn't sit still, the one who had driven her crazy, and the one she'd secretly felt a fondness for. The subject line read: "Thank you."

She clicked it open. The message was short, sweet, and to the point. Attached was a photo. The photo was of Ben, standing in front of a giant building. He looked so happy. He looked like he had finally found his place.

Ms. Petrov’s lips curved into a warm smile. She scrolled through the picture again, the image of him in the corner of her vision, and her heart grew warm. She reached for her coffee. This made the day feel brighter.
