A warm glow filled Harold as he watched the contractor arrive at Mrs. Gable's home. The contractor was accompanied by several other men, all of them carrying blueprints. He practically skipped down the steps, his chest puffed out with a newfound sense of purpose.

Harold's own house, which had always seemed perfectly adequate, now felt… lacking. He had been planning to upgrade the kitchen. Now, he was thinking a complete renovation. New appliances, a granite countertop, a wine cellar.

He cleared his throat, feeling a giddy energy coursing through him. He’d spend the afternoon researching the best contractors in the city. The best, the most exclusive. He could not wait to be a part of the “in-crowd." He needed to make a phone call and get the ball rolling now.
