"Remember when we tried to make that movie?" John asked, a note of excitement in his voice. "We were going to be famous, man!"

Across the dusty attic, Ben felt a familiar wave of resentment wash over him. He remembered the countless hours spent editing, the way John had taken all the credit, the way Ben had been relegated to the background.

He ran a hand through his hair, the dust clinging to his fingers. He felt a familiar weariness, a sense of being overlooked, of never truly being seen.

"Yeah," he said, his voice flat. He was already thinking about how to get away.
