A shiver ran down her spine as the notification appeared. It was from Karen, who had delighted in making Susan's life a living hell. The past was a heavy weight on her shoulders, almost impossible to shrug off.

Susan stared at the request, her eyes wide. Her small apartment, filled with second-hand furniture and forgotten hobbies, felt oppressive. She’d lost contact with friends years ago, and she knew she wouldn't survive on her own.
