"But… I’m always alone,” Chris said, their voice breaking. Their existence felt so fragile, so dependent on the external validation of others.

Robin stood, collecting his keys. "We’re together, Chris. That should be enough." His words were a soothing balm, yet they did nothing to ease the internal chaos.
