Gemotions

She clutched the letter, the paper worn and faded. It was addressed to her childhood teacher, a desperate plea for guidance. Tears welled in her eyes as she reread it.

*I can't cope,* the letter began. *I'm scared of making the wrong choices. Please, show me the way.*

The memories flooded back: the sense of needing approval, of always searching for reassurance. The sensation of insecurity, of needing someone else to tell her what to do, had never truly left her. The world felt enormous, and she, so small.
