The ad was there, glowing on the screen, a beacon of a life she no longer had access to. Her fingers, usually steady, were trembling so much that she clicked on the wrong link, and a string of angry obscenities tumbled out of her mouth. The interior shots, sterile and modern, were a stark contrast to the vibrant, chaotic memories she held.

Her stomach churned. The tiny apartment, which had always felt like a sanctuary, now seemed to shrink around her, the walls closing in. She glanced at the calendar, a schedule she'd meticulously crafted, a timetable to keep her on track. It didn't seem to help, the schedule, not today.

She let out a frustrated sob. She clutched at the blanket on her lap. She felt like a small child again, overwhelmed and helpless. The familiar anxiety pressed down, heavy and suffocating.
