The house felt too large, too empty. Emily wandered from room to room, a sense of emptiness echoing inside her. Nothing seemed to hold any interest. Her daughter, Olivia, was starting sixth grade.

She clicked on the school's website, searching for the class lists. When she saw the name "Mr. Peterson," her breath hitched. Her heart began to race. The same Mr. Peterson. The one who'd made her feel inept.

She remembered the feeling of always being behind, the constant pressure to perform. A wave of weariness rolled over her, making her muscles ache. She slumped onto the couch, feeling as though she was being pulled down into the depths.
