Gemotions

The thought of moving, of doing anything, was exhausting. She woke up at noon, the curtains still drawn, and the room was still shadowy. The clock was ticking, each second a painful reminder of what she had to do, but everything felt so very out of reach.

She forced herself to the window, the image of her car being towed replaying in her mind. Her chest tightened, and her breath hitched. The empty space was a punch to the gut, the sudden void amplified by the already oppressive silence.

She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry. She wanted to disappear. Instead, she turned away, sinking back into the darkness.
