Gemotions

The air in the house was thick, heavy, clinging to her like a shroud. She hadn’t slept properly in days, haunted by fragmented memories and a pervasive sense of dread. She moved from room to room, barely registering the world around her.

She approached the study, and found the box. “My Beloved Child’s Education,” the label declared. Inside, a neat collection of every school assignment, going back to kindergarten. She reached for a drawing of a rainbow, a crayon sketch of a happy family.

A knot formed in her stomach, making it hard to breathe. All this effort, all this care. A world of expectations, of hopes and dreams, all now… gone. She felt a profound sense of isolation, alone in a world she couldn’t connect with.
