"A culinary catastrophe," the review blared from the tablet screen. Chef Marco slumped against the wall, the harsh words echoing in the echoing emptiness of his own restaurant. His legs felt like lead weights. "Il Sogno", or "The Dream", was now a nightmare. The critic had destroyed everything.

He hadn't eaten a proper meal in days. He just felt sick. The vibrant music that usually filled the Italian restaurant was now silent. The aroma of garlic and basil, once a source of comfort, now churned his stomach. He pictured the empty tables, the faces of his staff, and a deep ache spread through his chest. He wished he could just shut his eyes and sleep forever.
