The ocean's roar seemed to mock the smallness of his problems. He sat on the beach, the sand cold and damp beneath him. He stared at the waves, their relentless crashing mirroring the turmoil within him. The results of the DNA test had cast a long, dark shadow over his life.

He felt a deep sense of wrongness, an unshakeable feeling that he didn't belong. He’d built a life, a family, friendships, but now, he wondered how much of it was real, how much of it was based on a foundation of lies.

He wrapped his arms around himself, feeling a chill despite the warm air. The sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in fiery hues, but he could only see the encroaching darkness. He felt a bottomless weariness.
