Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows of his cramped apartment, mirroring the tempest within. He hadn’t showered in days, the stale smell of regret clinging to him like a shroud. The melody, his melody, drifted from the open window of the cafe across the street, carried on the wind. A woman’s voice, clear and strong, filled the space where his once resided. He sank further into the worn armchair, a hollow ache in his chest, as the notes danced, mocking him with their life. He hadn't left his apartment in a month.
